The phenomenal Nerrad Heat Stop compound creates a thermal barrier, preventing transfer of heat along metallic pipes. It allows you to solder without fear of heat creeping along the pipe, causing possible damage to plastic fittings (A), or accidentally thawing ice plugs on frozen pipework (B).

Simply remove the compound from the pot and carefully mould around the circumference of the pipe. Position the compound between the heat source and the section of the pipe/fitting you want to protect from residual heat. Then solder away. It’s non-toxic and can be used over and over again.

How to use:

Moisten hands and apply compound generously around the pipe
Ensure there are no air gaps and use blow torch as required
When work is complete allow surfaces to cool
Remove Heat Stop and store in an air-tight container. If it becomes dry, sprinkle on a few drops of water and knead.
